DRY2K is a division of Klaus and Associates, Inc. (K&A), an Illinois corporation since May 22, 1984, and is wholly owned by Hal Klaus, an owner since its inception.
K&A began its operations in 1983 from an office and warehouse located at 817 Ninth Street in Highland Illinois, which is about 30 miles east of St. Louis Missouri. In 1992 K&A moved about four blocks to its current 15,500 square foot office/warehouse located at 500 Main Street in Highland.
K&A began as a B-Dry System Basement Waterproofing franchisee in 1983 serving customers on the eastern side (Illinois) of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Within a few years, the company obtained the franchises for the entire St. Louis market as well as the central Illinois territory.
Along the way, K&A became a Grip-Tite foundation repair dealer as well as holding piering dealerships with A. B. Chance and Fasteel.
In 1994, K&A obtained the Gutter Helmet gutter protection dealership for the metro-east area of St. Louis and, in 2000 K&A was awarded the entire St. Louis market for Gutter Helmet. By 2003 K&A had grown to be one of the top five dealers within the entire Gutter Helmet dealer network.
Due to the rapid expansion of the Gutter Helmet line, in 2003 Hal sold his B-Dry franchise to his loyal long-time production manager, who had been with the company since day one back in 1983. These B-Dry franchises are still owned and operated by this former employee.
In April of 2009, at the age of 60, Hal decided to sell his Gutter Helmet business to an existing home improvement contractor located in St. Louis. From that time on, Hal has devoted his entire time to developing and marketing the DRY2K minimally invasive basement waterproofing system.
When he was still involved in the basement waterproofing industry, Hal served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Waterproofing and Structural Repair Contractors, and held the office of Treasurer for several years.
